"I was kind of hoping this was the long-awaited soundtrack to the Witchblade TV series.

This is a mix of songs which appeared in the first and second seasons of TNT's "Witchblade," and other songs which were either inspired by the show, or just good-sounding enough to be here.

The CD doesn't bill itself as a soundtrack to the show. It's just "Witchblade: The Music."

But I still had hopes, and that's why I decided to order this CD from Edge Artists.

I don't remember all the songs from the show, so I found a listing of songs from the first and second seasons at BladeTV.com and tried to match them up with the songs on the CD to see what was what.

Fans of the show will instantly recognize the first track, G. Tom Mac's "Cry Little Sister."

It pumped up the adrenaline in the last episode of the first season.

The second song here, "Sarah" by Grant Lee Phillips, was in season one, episode six and season two, episodes 11 and 12.

The third, "Child of Mine" by Roger Daltry was in season one's finale. It was also in season two, episode eight.

I think the version on the CD, which features G. Tom Mac, was in the latter.

Not all of the songs featured in the series are on the list, and the list indicates that.

I can't remember any of the others being in the show, but that doesn't mean they weren't there.

There was a version of "Don't Fear the Reaper" in season one, episode four. But I think it was by Blue Oyster Cult.

On the CD, there's a version of the song by Accidental Tears.

There are four songs here by G. Tom Mac, and I think the reason why is Edge Artists is his label.

But his stuff isn't the worst. It's better than most of the stuff on here actually.

If you were listening to it just to listen to it, and not to pick it apart, you wouldn't mind this CD. It's inspiring, and at times easy on the ears.

This is second song compilation created to celebrate the world of the Witchblade.

The first was "Songs of the Witchblade: A Soundtrack to the Comic Books," released by Dreamworks in 1998.

Maybe this thing should have been billed as "Songs of the Witchblade Vol. 2" or something.

Hopefully down the road, a CD compilation will do justice to the TV show, which was filled with songs week after week."

Not much there

"I have this series on tape and love watching it. I had hoped for a music CD, but this one lacks much of the best music from the show. There are no score pieces and due to its lack of Grant Lee Phillips "Cathain" - a center piece to the series - I wouldn't waist your money."

"A great disapointment! There was a lot of great music in the series that I was hoping to hear that isn't in this cd. Most of these songs I don't remember hearing (and I watched it many times) so if they were there they were very short or in the second season (which wasn't as good musically). There are a couple of songs people have been dying to get - the remix of "Cry, Little Sister" and "Sarah" - that aren't available anywhere else but I don't think the versions on this album are the ones we wanted to hear."
