"Review #211. This may be a first - don't think I've ever seen a title like this with over 200 fan reviews. I remember when this CD was first released. There was plenty of promotional work done for VAST, that I know for a fact. Knew I still had my copy, buried under stack(s) of other CD's I haven't heard in eons. Best described as post-grunge / alternative. It's all coming back to me now, as I'm hearing some of 'Vast Audio Sensory Theater's cuts that stuck in my mind then are the same tracks that I like now - "Touched", the sappy "Pretty When You Cry", the Type O Negative-like "I'm Dying" and the should-have-been a hit "Three Doors". Fans of Rammstein, Nine Inch Nails, Afghan Whigs and Concrete Blonde might get as least as much as I did out of this effort."
Staggering - Absolutely Amazing and Still Relevant a Near-De

"To verbalize Jon Crosby's music (in particular Visual Audio Sensory Theater) - will forever and always be a gross understatement. The haunting quality of his voice - the breadth and depth of his lyrics - the intonation of his voice and the soulfulness with which he sings....It's absolutely breathtaking. Surely this man - this genius - vows to march to the beat of his own drummer (pun intended).
In attempting to give an accurate description of just how wondrous this album is - to further reiterate that listening to this CD is not just an experience, but rather, a journey - I would have to tell the story of how I have purchased, owned and [literally] ruined a full 5 discs.
I listened to them so often - and so many times - that I ruined them, through-and-through.
Now, in the age of iPods and digital music - my playlist is wrought with VAST's compilations. What a wonderful addition they are - and, rightfully so, whenever my shuffle picks one of his tracks ... I cannot say that I've ever skipped one. Every time they begin, they feel new again - ready to be listened to and rediscovered.
A near decade since I first discovered his music (at the ripe 'ol age of 14) - I truly feel as though this artistry is every bit as magical and empowering as the first time I heard it. As if the lasting power does not persuade one to agree - there are a near 215 reviews on Amazon, alone, as a further testament to this man's sheer ingenuity and brilliance (as a composer, singer and production artist).
Simply put - it's amazing. One of the fullest indulgences and pleasures of our age; a return to eras of bygone days where the music was as moving as it was powerful."
