Unique - amazing!

"its not a cheap set, but Paradiso (CD2) is quite a spectacular achievement, even as just an audio recording (this was originally a live production with accompanying video, not included in this box set unfortunately).

It's not the first time I've heard NASA moonlanding samples incorporated into a work (was it Tomita in the 70's?); but here it takes advantage of modern technology in a very clever and artful way. The audio clips are played more in time with the orchestra, like an instrument in very precise fashion. An included booklet explains each segment of the composition (based on Dante)

The DVD has a couple of interesting pieces too. Some are video compositions; others are simple performances. And there's a nice documentary on the artist too.

Someday I hope to see this performed in person.
