Vells formed back in 2002 with classical pianist Mary Thinnes and bassist Adam Howrey (Fruit Bats, Helvatia). This album also features the talents of Red Stars Theory's ultra-melodic guitarist Tony Palmasani and fiddle magic from fellow Modest Mouse member Tom Peloso. The sheer amount of musical texture on Integretron is matched by Marcum's lyrical detail and suave flow, melded with Vells' signature celestial harmonies to create a surreal, dreamlike masterpiece. The band's style is reminiscent of the modern straightforwardness of friends (and fans) The Shins, combined with the psychedelic sonic characteristics of The Beatles and infused with innovative new sounds similar to The Knife.
