Worth buying, but nowhere near Centro-matic's best.

"All in all, this is a pretty mellow CD. None of the songs really rock, but some can be really pretty. Especially the Centro-matic songs. I'll be honest, I don't know much of anything about Vermont or the Promise Ring, nor am I really interested in finding out more after listening to this CD. The three Vermont tracks are all fairly boring and at times even somewhat irritating. The only one I enjoyed was "Say something/95 frowns" which is a Centro-matic cover; even then, I still prefer the Centro-matic version. I bought this CD because I am a huge Centro-matic fan and these songs weren't on any other releases of theirs. The Centro-matic songs however are pretty much all keepers. Their cover of Vermont's Old Blue may go on a bit too long, but it is still a very moving song. "Celebrated Departure" is also good, and probably one of my favorite quiet Centro-matic songs. Strong Sentences however, is one of their weaker songs, but it's still enough to keep my attention. I reccomend this CD for any big Centro-matic fans, but I seriously urge anyone who wants to get acquainted with either band to check out their albums."
