Album Description

"Polka Haunt Us - A Spook-tacular Compilation" is based on authentic ghostly folk tales from around the world, lyrics written by the project's Executive Producer, Veronique Chevalier. Less a novelty project and more an experiment in ethnomusicology, the album is reminiscent of Harry Smith's Folkways recordings for the Smithsonian Trust, or the compilation "Songs from the Neighborhood: The Music of Fred Rogers" with a Nick Cave "Murder Ballads" twist.

"At first, I wasnt sure what to expect of this album. It got some great reviews on other sites, so I went ahead and got it. I was not dissapointed! This is an amazing album!

Ms. Veronique Chevalier has compiled a wonderful cultural experience musically. Her album is different from any I have ever heard before. She compiled different myths and legends from cultures all around the globe, and put it in lyrical and musical form.

This album is funny, whitty, and totally original. Its also really great for parties and events, especially during the wonderful month of October (halloween, samhain, etc).

Veronique Chevalier was even the unanimous choice for Best Cabaret Artist at the 14th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards.
