"When the then young and "rookie" cuban singer Vicentico Valdes arrived in the U.S. around 1949, to join his brother, sonero singer Alfredito Valdes, it didn't take him long to team up with one of the hottest latin bands in New York City, Tito Puente and His Orchestra. At the time Tito was recording for the RCA Victor label, so he took his new cuban singer Vicentico to RCA recording studios and in less than a year more than a dozen hits featuring Vicentico & Puente hit the market with great success. "Cao Cao Mani Picao", "Donde Estabas Tu", "Mi Chiquita Quiere Guarachar", "Sacala", "El Baile del Pinguino", "Domingo Pantoja", "Arin~an~ara", "Rogelio No Me Aprietes Mas", "Lagrimas Negras","Ya No Hay Mujeres Feas", "Para Que Sufran Los Pollos", "Arroz Con Pollo", "Tu No Eres Nadie", and "Cuando Suenan Los Tambores", form the total of Vicentico & Puente's recording sessions for RCA.
