Synopsis

Album Description
Vic Thrill is a super freak born out of the bowels of the music industry. The band was founded by former members of the Bogmen and Garden Variety, both were successful touring bands in the old millennium. After the demise of both bands, with much unfinished business, the two camps fused their exotic alternative and indie punk in the electronic realm. The music is often described as "electro-trash." The live show ranges from full-on multimedia, electronic circus extravaganzas to trashy basement gigs. The vibe is fast and furious positivity. This is the CD that will stay in your stereo for weeks. Vic Thrill's CD, "CE-5," produced by Robbie Adams (U2, Smashing Pumpkins, Rollerskate Skinny, Bogmen) is the bands first full length DIY release on Circus Clone Records. "CE-5" (Close Encounters of the 5th Kind, see liner notes) delivers a sonic shout out to the far reaches of the universe, and soon there will be an answer.

CD Reviews

This music is something special

"Vic Thrill is completely in a league of its own; like the other reviewers wrote, these guys truly stand apart from anything out there right now. Their music is infectious, fast, and should make you smile. Maybe you'll ask yourself, "hmmm, now how did they come up with this remarkable music in the first place? and how is it that I get these goosebumps every time one of their songs starts up (especially in a live setting)?" I know I do. Alright, let's take Surfer Rosa as a benchmark here-- now, Surfer Rosa is like a great salsa that's just a little too spicy (in a good way, obviously); Vic Trhill also dips from the same salsa jar, but enjoys a creamy electronic component that kind of smooths things over. They have figured out the supreme joy of blending of keyboards and punk guitar, spiking it with humourous lyrics delivered by this bizarre electronic-oid voice effect. Again, this is an act you must hear for yourself-- if you like 'em or not, you surely won't forget what you heard. Is Vic Thrill the future of punk? They just might be."
You'll never believe it

"This is a tough album to explain to people... it's like nothing you've ever heard. No indie press will be describing these guys as reminiscent of ... (Ramones, Joy Division, Television, who-the-hell-ever)... they are not derivative of ANYBODY! It's amazing! This is the new sound we've all been waiting for... unique to the times and not some 70's, 80's punk throwback. They're electro, punk, funk, crazy-awesome. Take a chance, you will fall in love. This album has been in my stereo for months. There are so many layers, you'll always hear something new. This is my first review, I've never been moved enough to post one, but I can't recommend these guys enough."
