"Oh god, now Fans of Vincente Fernandez are all going to hate me!I only thought this CD was OK. Here is the low-down. SingingPretty good. Vincente F. has a bigger vocal range than his son. Nevertheless, his voice does not give me chills like Alejandro's. He also does this "crying" in some songs where he is supposed to be sad. It sounds like "A ha ha hayyyy" I didn't really like this. I listened to the CD when I was drunk though. It sounds better under the influence of alcohol. The SongsThe music and lyrics of the songs on the other hand are FABULOUS. "Puro Cachanilla" is awesome, and probably another good song to sing drunk. Smile. My other favorites are Por tu Maldito Amor and La Caminera. If you have ever had a bad experience in love, you will definitely FEEL La Caminera. Here are some of the lyrics. Since I had to write them myself (see below), they might be kind of wrong:Dame la cuenta por favor ya cantinero
(Give me the check now barkeep)
y de una vez me das tambien la caminera.
(and at the same time say your last goodbye to me)
tengo dos noches sin dormir y ya no quiero
(I've spent two sleepless nights and I don't want)
seguir tratando de acabar con mi tristeza.
(to continue trying to put an end to my sadness)Entre canciones vino y humo de cigarros
(In the middle of songs, wine and cigarette smoke)
me estoy quedando sin honor y sin fortuna
(I'm being left without honor or money)
nada consigo con pasarmela llorando.
(I'm gaining nothing by spending my time crying)
mientras la ingrata de mi amor se esta burlando.
(while that ungrateful woman who I loved is making a mockery of me)Ya estuvo bien hay que ser hombre y aguantarse
(It's ok, one has to be a man and deal [with his troubles])
y sacudirse de una vez esos recuerdos
(And get rid of these memories once and for all)
ya estuvo bien de ese carino hay que olvidarse
(It's ok, one has to forget that love)
que vaya al diablo la que nunca me ha querido.
(She can go to the devil, that woman who never loved me)
. . .The Production of the AlbumThe worst thing about this CD is--The lyrics. Where are they? If you are Mexican, or you know all the Lyrics to EVERY song by VF, then good for you. For me, these were all new songs, so I was kind of pissed to not have the lyrics. The CD insert. CD's cost way too much money to not have pictures or something EXTRA on the insert. This insert was just a two-page foldover. Pretty cheap, guys.Ok that's it. In conclusion. If you already love VF, and you think he's the REY and like your dad loves him, like that other girl who wrote a review--BUY this CD.Otherwise, save your money."
