"Victoria began her recording career with this 1995 album, on which she co-wrote every song. I hoped it would mark the start of a hugely successful career as a country singer, but it was not to be. Since then, Victoria had one more album for Warner brothers and another on her own label. However, she has been extremely successful as a songwriter, writing or co-writing songs that have been successful for several major stars. Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood eventually recorded one such song, Where your road leads, as a duet. Victoria's original can be found on this album.Victoria's comparative failure as a singer is a mystery to me, because she has a lovely voice, well suited to the songs she sings. Apart from Where your road leads, there are several brilliant songs here, my favorite being A day in the life of a single mother, which takes the optimistic view of the subject. Indeed, the overall feel of the album is bright and cheery.Jim Ed Norman produced the album, which was generally typical of mid nineties pop country. However, Victoria's great songs and lovely voice ensure that this is well above average quality."
