CD ReviewsI'm a fan Terry Mathews | a small town in east Texas | 01/02/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "I really didn't know much about Vince Bell until Lyle Lovett's release of "Natural Forces" this year. Lovett's cover of Bell's "Sun and Moon and Stars" is one of the most haunting melodies I've heard in a long time. Lovett opened his tour with the tune and it was one of the lovliest moments of the show. Bell's story makes his albums even richer. After a 1982 car wreck left in a coma for a month and then in rehabilitation for almost a decade, Bell put his life back together and went back to the recording studio, God bless him. Bell's a great songwriter ... the songs on this CD are part of a one-man play that tells his story and features the best of his songs. It's not easy listening, but it's well worth the time it takes to sit still and listen to a master work his magic." Suitable for enjoying by itself or as a companion to Bell's Midwest Book Review | Oregon, WI USA | 05/11/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "One Man's Music is the fifth album on CD released by musician Vince Bell, suitable for enjoying by itself or as a companion to Bell's autobiography of the same title. Featuring fourteen songs (three new compositions, and eleven popular favorites from Bell's previous albums) that tie to the story of Bell's life, One Man's Music features Bell's guitar in complementary tandem to the piano playing of Los Angeles pianist Ned Albright. The music traces a journey, and Bell's vocal stylings flow smoothly alongside the guitar chords. A stirring, thoughtful album, highly recommended. The tracks are "100 Miles from Mexico" (2:58), "I've Had Enough" (3:38), "The Other Side" (4:37), "Sun & Moon & Stars" (4:55), "Frankenstein by Gary Burgess" (3:57), "Pair of Dice" (1:52), "Queen Street" (4:38), "Bermuda Triangle" (2:59), "Mirror, Mirror" (2:42), "2nd Street" (3:05), "The Beast" (2:54), "Hard Road" (3:01), "Woman of the Phoenix" (3:04), and "One Man's Music" (2:58)."
