"Shalini Chatterjee formed this band, and fronts it. Her boyfriend Mitch Easter, a brilliant musician and record producer, helped her to make a very good record with her band and material.The music combines elements of classic pop, girl group music and vibe, punk minimalism and dissonance, and classic rock elements. It's maybe slightly similar to early Jesus and Mary Chain. There's a wealth of good tracks here; my favorites are "Never the Weak Link", "Hold Your Breath Until October" (a duet with pop genius Scott Miller [Game Theory, Loud Family], who is actually Shalini's ex-husband), and "Euphoria". Shalini's voice is not the greatest, she goes a bit flat in places, but when everything works (and, on a lot of these tracks, it does) her music is an impressive, catchy stew."
