"Why doesn't anybody ever talk about this band? They should, because it was one of the most eclectic sounding, cryptic, and interesting bands of the late 90s. Jennifer Olay's beautiful but atypically textured voice, like a hard echo in a stone wishing well, is well worth a listen. And the songs are like frayed tapestries, mechanical, distorted, impressionistic, resonant, and quite emotional. Sometimes listening to Violent Green is like taking a long, lonely walk in the dark. All three albums are wonderful aural gifts that crawl inside your head and make you feel like you're dreaming this music."
