Synopsis
Album Description Violent Soho descend from the Brisbane suburb of Mansfiel, the fundamentalist Christian epicenter that is far from a heaven on earth. Thankfully it has numbed these four youths with enough boredom to band together as a slacker punk, grunge outfit. Sharing a communal fascination of the 80s and 90s US indie underground which bred the likes of The Wipers, Sonic Youth, The Pixies and Flipper, VS have broken through the garage door and fully submerged themselves into the Brisbane live scene. |
CD ReviewsGood Raw Rockin' Sound Mark Vigna | Detroit, MI | 11/03/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "I saw these guys in Detroit and thought, "wow, what a raw act" and that is not at all bad. That rawness comes through on this recording very well. After listening I am convinced they have a sound that scrapes at the roots of rock like the early Stooges (not that they compare in any other way to Iggy and crew) and should become quite popular on the indie scene. For those not familiar with them the sound is between grunge and metal. 'Jesus Stole My Girlfriend' is perhaps the best track on the CD, but by far not the only one worth listening to. Check it out if this sounds like what you are into. You won't be disappointed."
