"I was attracted to this disc by the fine artwork on the cover, something I do all the time with great success, and this beautiful music exceeded my expectations.
Violet Tears is an Italian outfit with a strong sense of the gentle side of lush goth sounds. Nothing harsh here at all, even the drum sound is subdued. Waves and waves of syth strings, guitars and bass over the slow mesmerizingly haunting, other-worldy, female vocals of Carmen de Rossas (wonderful name) with additional clean male vocals from Claudio Contessa.
Overall the sound from this wonderfully obscure band has a longing, lost feel, similar to early works by the Cocteau Twins, or even Dead Can Dance, where the music washes over you in gentle ripples. 'Cold Memories and Remains' is a perfect title for this work.
VIOLET TEARS: Cold Memories and Remains: 9 tracks=57 mins,25 secs."
