Both the Violin Concerto and the Octet are unbelievably beautiful and moving pieces, and Zukerman's playing and conducting is the best I've ever heard. Mendelssohn wrote the Octet when he was 16 - which is unbelievable given the composition's depth and maturity. Get this CD, pour a nice glass of wine, put on a pair of quality headphones, turn it up and take one of the most amazing musical rides ever. This CD is my favorite classical CDs of all time. Get it - you won't regret it!
