"This CD is the original "Simply Baroque II!" The first four Violin Concertos of Vivaldi's Opus 8 are some of the most famous music in all history -- you may know them better as "The Four Seasons." Concerto Nos. 5-12 are not quite as catchy and memorable as "Spring" (although 5, 6 & 10 come close), but they are an ample follow-up for those who can't get enough Vivaldi. In terms of this performance, the English Chamber Orchestra, with Pinchas Zukerman conducting and performing on violin, is impeccable. But I knew this would be the case because my favorite Bach Violin Concertos were also by the E.C.O. (on EMI/Angel but with Barenboim conducting). Finally, this disc is another amazing value from one of the best lines in all classical music, Sony Essential Classics, as it logs in at more than 75 minutes. A must buy for baroque music fans!"
