"It is quite amazing but most of the performances (even by the best) of Four Seasons seem not be "in tune" with the mood. Listen to 'Winter': Allegro non molto and you will understand what I mean. The best violinists rush through this showing their fantastic technique and... missing beauty of this piece. I highly recomend this one, exactly because it is so full of understanding the tempo and structure. Another one I would highly recomend is by Maksymuk's Polish Radio Orchestra with Kontanty Kulka (an old recording - I am not sure you can find it on CD). It is amazing that even the masters like Yehudi Menuhin just can't get it right..."
