CD ReviewsI'll give four stars for the MUSIC! The vocals... ehh? 10/10/2000 (4 out of 5 stars) "I had heard the 7" and I had seen them live... I was impressed by their creativity... so it only seemed logical to pick up the new full length. I still REALLY like the music. A lot! It's a mixture of The VSS, The Slaves, maybe Tortoise... very complex and dynamic. Sonically, it feels a bit poppy at times... (in a good way) The best elements of this band are the keyboard playing and the drumming... Now... I'm not going to dis the singer. He's not bad, by any means... He's just wearing his influences on his sleeve, and it's a pretty tacky shirt. I sense that he's been listening to the Make-Up, and U.S. Maple... He sings like a little spoiled brat who isn't getting his way. It's distracting. When I listen to this CD i usually try to block out the voice. However, I'd keep an eye on this band... There's something magical about them. This record is on Made in Mexico and it was recorded by Blake Wescott-(Damien Jurado, Pedro the Lion, etc...)and it sounds great." The Vogue is an underrated band 10/05/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "A freind told me about this awesome band from seattle. They have a lot of talent and they are very abstract. The whole album is well put together. Overall, a great purchase"
