Drum n Bass producer turns Hiphop - and pulls it off
J H Weterings | Almere, Netherlands | 10/24/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Being a Drum 'n' Bass head, i have played Adam's last album "Colours" about a 1000 times, each time totally blown away by the brilliant and crystal clear production of it. I guess Adam thought it was time for something else - no one heard from him in two years in Drum 'n' Bass land.
Enter "Chaos". Adam has turned his skills to hiphop, and he does an excellent job. Production wise this album is again excellent, IMHO even better than the stuff Timbaland does. Most of the tracks are excellent hiphop, most of them with a dark edge - which suits him fine. There is an R 'n' B orientend track on it as well ("Where's My ****") and a very clever use of sound effects (gregorion choirs, samples of "sci-fi"gunfire) complete the album. The track "Stand Clear" hints to Adam's last drum 'n' bass single "Brand New Funk". Lot's of guests to! (LL Cool J, CNN, Lil' Mo, De La Soul, Beenie Man, Pharaoh Monch - you get the idea)
I'm not in hiphop anymore since, aah, well Ice T's "O.G. Original Gangster" - but this stuff is excellent!"
