"Ever come across an album by a completely unknown band and it blows you away? This is one of those times. 'Walking On Ice' blends folk,rock,jazz, blues and ambient sounds in a cohesive whole unlike any other product of its kind. The vocal harmonies are breathtaking, the songs quietly sneak up on you and lodge themselves in the consciousness and remain there for years. I speak from experience as 'Cafe Lena','World without Walls' and the excuisite 'Las Vegas Brides' have been resonating in my mind for decades. Remember that this album originally came out in 1987, so the production values are typical of the period, but the singing is so pure and faultless and the songs are just so powerful and hypnotic they transcend all fashions and times. That is the essential appeal of 'Walking on Ice' -its ability to cross borders, transcend musical fads and fashions and still retain its integrity. That is quite a feat and this as you will have guessed is quite an album. I will say no more other than that you have not lived until you have heard 'Walking on Ice', it is that special."
