Album DescriptionGlobal Underground are proud to present the third instalment of the spin off DJ Series, curated by Spanish music maestro Wally Lopez. Hot on the heels of the widely acclaimed releases by Nic Fanciulli & The Plump DJs, this is Wally's first mix compilation for the label, and a fierce one at that. Over the last 20 years Wally has built himself into Spain's foremost international DJ. He's played with Madonna; co-headlines a residency @ Space Ibiza; become an ambassador for HIV/AIDS awareness charity Dance4Life; released on some of the top house labels such as Defected, Subliminal, Yoshitoshi and Underwater. All whilst running his own successful record label Factomia & clothing line Tremenda Wear. CD1 kicks off with an electroid reworking of a funky techno Misstress Barbara track before dropping down into the atmospheric, post-minimal Stimming mix of Robert Babicz's 'Come Closer'. As Wally locks into a chuggy groove, the mix takes in funky tribalisms, percussive feasts, widescreen journeying and even a tinge of sexy Latin. Wally's not afraid to chuck the odd vocal anthem in the mix either, while on CD2 he goes a little deeper before flexing out the flow towards the finish. Global Underground's impact over the last 2 decades has been phenomenal. Synonymous with some of the most collectable and revered compilations ever made including Sasha's 'Ibiza' and 'San Francisco' releases, Paul Oakenfold's 'Oslo', Darren Emerson's 'Singapore' to Tony De Vit's 'Tel Aviv' and 'Tokyo' follow up, with the more recent 'Black Rock Desert' release form Carl Cox, their roster reads like a who's who of electronica's icons.
