Monica's best jazz-record!

"Today the sad message headlined Swedish newspapers. Monica Z died yesterday in a fire-accident. Monica regarded "Walz for Debby" the best album in her career. She was of course right. This record is sublime, magnificent and deeply moving. Monica will always be in our hearts!"
Fabulous performance/Excellent recording

"Don't miss this one. It's a bit more pricey as an import, but worth every penny. Joining Monica Zetterlund is the Bill Evans Trio, including Evans, Chuck Israels on bass and Larry Bunker on drums. Lucky for us, it turned out to be a musical match made in jazz heaven, and may very well be one of the finest vocal/jazz trio albums ever made. Ms. Zetterlund's
"Some Other Time" is as good as it gets. A lot of female, jazz singers would give their right arm for this lady's pipes: a pure, sultry tone, markedly absent of vibrato. The engineering on the cd is excellent along with six bonus tracks not on the original album. The original cover notes (in Swedish) cite an introductory Bill Evans quote from 3/14/64; Verve shows the recording listed as 8/23/64."
One more Swedish voice...

"Having Swedish parents (and living there for 9 years), has allowed me to be introduced to a whole group of musicians that may not be well known in the international music community. Although, audiophiles know some of them, the great record buying masses do not. Growing up, Alice Babs, Monica Zetterlund and others were played around the house.
This recording is phenominal. I have heard this on LP many years ago,and the sound of this Japanese import is outstanding. Monica truly has an angelic voice. More Billy than Ella. More earthy than Alice Babs. Bill Evans truly is in fine form and the two of them have a beautiful symbiotic musical relationship, where they flow together and drive each other farther. I have not heard the bonus tracks, so i can't say anything about the CD with them on it. If you like female vocals, jazz, or Bill Evans, you will enjoy this."
Bill Evans and Monica Zetterlund

"Evans clearly enjoyed this! Zetterland's renditions of Waltz for Debby (in Swedish) is beautiful; as is Evans 's own playing on Some Other Time. In Lucky to be Me Evans is playing with clear joy, and the bonus of hearing Evans himself joking around as he "sings" Santa Claus is coming to town, is just wonderful."
