A trip through time

(4 out of 5 stars)
"This cd really delivers, as promised, a wonderful trip through time- back to 1989, when the hair was long, musicianship a must, and rock ruled the airwaves! Jeff Pilson's work with Dokken is well known, but it's nice to get to hear him cut loose on vocals, even if it is on 10 year-old demos! The songs are real strong, in particular "Kill For the Love of God", "Snake Eyes", and "What I Hide Behind". And Randy Hansen's guitar work is unbelievable! This disc really is worth checking out, it's like a missing piece of the whole 80's rock genre that could have tied things together nicely with the whole grunge movement. And Pilson's voice has a fascinating quality to it, very passionate but hauntingly accessible. Of course it's not meant to be anything current, so can't rightly give it 5 stars. But the 4 stars are well deserved, and this work should be sitting alongside the other late 80's and even early 90's artists. Thank God for the smaller record labels!"
