Hank Williams meets The Beatles at Raymond Carver's house on Artificial Light, the latest release from NYC singer-songwriter Ward White. Folk and country influnces abound on this harmony laden, melodic rock outing. Ward White's lyrics plumb the murky depths of fractured relationships and familial discontent. Artificial Light contains performances by NYC music veterans such as drummer Phoebe Summersquash (Small Factory, The Godrays, Brilliantine), Alex Kemp (The Godrays, Small Factory) and cellist Jason Frangos (888). Recording was overseen by producers Aaron Keane, Greg Griffith (vitapup), and Ray Martin (Marcy Playground, Into Another).

"What a great album! Ward really hits exactly what I'm thinking in a lot of places, from the brooding "I can't dance" to the Rockin' relationship-busting "Baby." I find a lot of his lyrics entering into my daily speech -- 'You missed the point again, I can't believe I'm really that unclear.' Excellent stuff. Can't wait for the next one."
