CD ReviewsA joyous romp F. Behrens | Keene, NH USA | 01/12/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "Lovers of organ music, Gershwin and other American 20th century composers, and jazz will love this album. (DE 3228) on the Delos label gives us a generous 74 minutes of 10 original improvisations of such delights as "I Got Rhythm," "Take the A Train," "Tea for Two," a "West Side Story" medley, and 6 other cuts. Organist Wayne Marshall generates a lot of excitement seated at the Lay Family Concert Organ in Dallas, Texas. The improvisation as a vituoso display is quite old, and Marshall writes how much he loves its "freedom with structure." "There are no mistakes in improvisation," he concludes. And you will make no mistake in purchasing this CD."
