"Like so many of my favorite artists, Weekend Players would still be unknown to me if I had to rely on radio to introduce me to good music. Fortunately, I discovered them through the "Ultra Chill" compilation CDs, which have been consistently worth the price in terms of suggesting new artists to investigate. The first song I heard was "Jericho" (on Ultra Chill 04 - another good buy) and I was immediately smitten by the smooth grooves and Rachel Foster's Tracey Thorn-like voice. Many people have compared Weekend Players to EBTG, but they also compare favorably to trip-pop groups like Morcheeba and electronica artists like Chicane. The mood here is relaxed and sultry, the tunes are infectious and the vocals are lovely. What more could you ask?"
The best of its kind

"Like many other listeners I came across this amazing debut by luck. I was surfing around to see what was new. I am so happy to have come across Weekend Players, but I'm even more excited about the potential they have.
The album is very defined. It's perfect harmony between vocals, a hint of electronica and great down beats (the vocals are really amazing). It's smooth, clean, and quality. I think the title says it all. The album is a pursuit of happiness, the feeling of calm fulfillment. Just like lying on the beach on a beautiful day with a nice cool breeze, and you have nothing to worry about... at all."

"OK, I was falling in love when I had the pleasure of receiving this as a birthday gift. It was really a wonderful soundtrack to have at the time. The music is simply hauntingly beautiful and can make your haeart ache (in a good way) It stays with you and has made very nostalgic wehnever I listen to it. This CD holds a special place in my heart and brings me to a place that I will always cherish. It was that powerful for me. I know it had a lot to do with timing but I think you'll understand when you hear it. I would say 8-9 songs are absolutely stellar which is rare. Buy and listen to it a lot."
PLAY ON PLAYERS!

"I intitally picked up "Pursiut of Happiness" at my local book slash record store and sampled it at one of those listening stations. I really dug the first :30 seconds of each song they usually let you hear and was kind of hesitant to buy it because of(and you're going to think this is ridiculous) the price! "How can an album that sounds this good, be so "affordable--am I on one of those hidden video shows?" I hurried and made my purchase before someone had realized the mistake in the price. To my satisfaction, it wasn't a mistake. "Pursuit of Happiness" is worth a 100 times the price I paid for it--Every song, even the remixes, are flawless...Rachel Foster's vocals are superb, and yes, there is a certain Sade-ish-ness about her style, but so what? Her vocals are actually slightly better and more dynamic. I'll bet Sade couldn't sing a dance floor track with the ease and finesse of Foster. She does an excellent job with "Angel," "Jericho," "I'll Be There," "The Best Days of our Lives","Into the Sun" and --heck, all of the songs!!! And Andy Cato does a better job at producing on "Weekend Players" than anything I've heard with "Groove Armada"--Outstanding job with "Play On"--it's become my new getting-to-work-on-time song! "Pursuit of Happiness" is sure to become my CD of the Summer...What am I talking about? Until someone else better-sounding comes out, this may very well be my favorite CD of all time! Kudos to this duo!!!!!"
