"I'm surprised to find so few reviews for this unique singer here. I don't often write reviews but this space ought to be filled. If you haven't heard Wendy Matthews do yourself a favour! She has a refreshing sound that washes over & through you. Her version of 'The Day You Went Away' is so sublimely restrained it's a thing of beauty, testament to it's number one position on the charts (1992 Australia). Canadian born, her music is at times infused with haunting North American Indian references. It's pure, relevant and classy pop. You won't find vacuous material here, which is why I've given this collection five stars. If you like 'Stepping Stones' then you really can't overlook her memorable debut album 'Emigré' (1990), or 'Lily' (1992), multi-platinum sellers here in Australia."
