Some great songs (especially BW), but they've been released

"Many of these songs were released previously on a compilation called "New Music from an Old Friend"
Despite that, there's still a lot of great music to love. Brian's "What Love Can Do," a co-write with Burt Bacharach, is a pleasure to the ears. The re-recorded version of the Pet Sounds classic "God Only Knows" is enjoyable, but pales in comparison to the original ... But not by much. A beautiful song always shines through.
This release will hopefully get better distribution than the "New Music from an Old Friend" disc (which was a Target-only release). If it does, maybe all the great songs on this disc will get a wider audience.
Other highlights: Kris Kristofferson refreshes his "Sunday Morning Coming Down." Peabo Bryson and Burt Bacharach take on the theme song to "Alfie." And Kenny Loggins and Richard Marx each take a spin through the past on some old favorites, like "A Love Song" and "Hold On to the Nights" respectively.
Consider this album a sampler of some great music, some old and some new. Some songs give a taste of what artists were working on at the time (Kenny Loggins' "How About Now" plugs a new album) while giving fans some great nuggets with which to reminisce."
