CD Reviews

Another great offering!

"Don't let the lo-fi production quality steer you away from this great album. At first I was a bit cynical, having only known the "slick produced" Wheatus, but these songs are too good to let that hold back some perfect pop songs. If anything, the production adds to the realness of the songs offered. Another great album from the most underrated band of the new millennium."
Wheatus Kicks Ass!

"I'm giving this 5 stars because I am a Wheatus fan & I am what I is, so there you have it. I think it would be impossible for Wheatus to top "Hand Over Your Loved Ones" Their sophomore effort. If you like this album run as fast as you can somewhere, to wherever they have it & buy it immediatly! I guarantee you will not take it out of your stereo for months! It's a great album & just for the record I'm not some little punk that doesn't know anything about music. I'm 28 & I have my degree in Commercial Music & Jazz Studies & I've been playing guitar since I was 13. I went thru the same program Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge went through & even had private lessons from him. So, I'm qualified! On an individual instrument talent level, I can't give Wheatus that much, but on a level of putting out fun, great, don't give a crap, funny & catchy party tunes, I give these guy's all the credit in the world & I'd love to see them live, but they NEVER COME TO THE NORTHWEST!! damn it. But, anyway.. I'd tell you to purchase "Hand Over Your Loved Ones" before you purchase this & if you love it, then buy their first album "Wheatus" & love both of them! & then after you love both of them, buy this one & you'll love all 3! Cheers. Oh, I forgot.. actually! Don't buy "Hand Over Your Loved Ones" Buy "Suck Fony" it's the same exact album but it has 2 additional tunes on it. They re-released it after parting ways with Sony. Hense the title.. Love it!

Playing it over and over again...

"I love the approachability of this band (my family just saw them perform, and the kids had such a blast!), and this particular album is really great.

Sometimes they remind me a little of They Might Be Giants. Most of their songs are not quite so ridiculous, but there is an element of humor in many of the tracks.

I was a little concerned about all the parental advisory warnings on the cd, but really bad stuff is too obscure for the kids to get anyway. There are definitely some instances of foul language, but the music is not hateful, and not overly sexual, either. The bad language is mostly used as expressions of frustrations with life, and as a parent, I don't really have a problem with it in that context.

I don't normally review music, but I wanted to give a vote on this one, because we have really enjoyed it - the CD has been playing almost non-stop in our house since we bought it, and we all really like it."
