The Best CD of the Year

"How is it possible that Guns N Roses spent 14 years on a record, The Whiskey Daredevils spent 5 days on their latest, and it blows Guns N Roses away? I'll tell you why... This is one of the last real rock bands on the planet. Plus, with no real budget to speak of, they didn't have time to screw around like Axl and Co. If you like stuff like Reverend Horton Heat, Southern Culture on the Skids, The Beat Farmers, Jason and the Scorchers, Bloodshot Records, Estrus Records, and Nuggets Compilations, this is for you.
It's like if you take all the good stuff from garage rock, country, punk rock, and rockabilly while leaving out all the crap you don't need. The songs are mostly about the various characters that live around the band in their hometown of Cleveland OH. "Gary Sez F "em" is about a guy that didn't care to meet Little Steven in a bar. "Planet of the Apes" is about someone they know that can't get through a conversation without bringing up Planet of the Apes movies. "Ear To the Ground" talks about the decline of the Rust Belt and swings at the same time. "Jimmy Rogers" is about grave robbing the skeleton of Jimmy Roger's for the ultimate country music collectible. This is good stuff.
If I were you, I'd buy this immediately, super glue it into your car stereo, and drive around all year. Do I say this from a point of self interest? Of course. But that doesn't mean it's not true!"
