This is an album of sheer brilliance. The superb sound and top quality cd production partners well with the breathtaking musicianship of Rob Brown, Whit Dickey, and Joe Morris.



The music is organic and ethereal; of the earth and of the heavens. Everyone plays at the top of their game. Whit Dickey, in particular, shows that his light touch with cymbal splashes and rimshots enhances the music in a way that a less sensitive percussionist could not. His playing is simply phenomenal. With Rob Brown's searing hot alto probing depths and heights like your orthoscopic surgeon gone mad and Joe Morris providing his precise lead and rhythm attack, you've got yourself a combination for a three alarm fire. This one never lets up. Even the quietest moments are drenched in heat and intensity.



There is a nice focus and feel to the music on this disc. Their earlier recording on the Riti label was quite an eyeopener. This one keeps them open and then some. Heavily recommended."
