"Here's yet another incomplete, rehash of The Who's back catalog in the guise of the new "Deluxe Edition" series. The fact is that there is nothing new here at all except alternate version of a few tracks. As others have stated, the dynamic range has been expanded but the mixes are incomplete. Gone are Daltrey's vocal and various instrumental overdubs. Also missing are the other songs recorded at the same time like "Just You And Me Darling".

Still gone from the current catalog are: "Goin' Down", "Dogs", "Dogs, Part 2", "Waspman", "Here 'Tis", "Here For More", "Zoot Suit", "Under My Thumb", "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde", "When I Was A Boy", etc. After waiting so long for this reissue, this is a big letdown.

MCA should stop procrastinating and release a complete boxed set of The Who's studio recordings. They should also release entire concerts from 1973 (Quadrophenia tour) and 1982 (It's Hard tour).

Different versions and confusion!
mini WHO! | USA | 04/07/2010

"Hello all,

One thing amazon has done was to consolidate the customer feedback so you have to look closely to see if the feedback pertains to the one you are wanting to buy because there are different version for sale, "oh so stupid on Amazon's part". so the feedback below does not pertain to the deluxe issue it's for the mono mini LP version from japan with no bonus tracks.

Just to help others with a little more information. when the Mini LP CD first appeared on amazon the track listing was correct than changed to what it shows NOW and it is so wrong! Most likely changed when Amazon consolidated the customer feedback.

Anyone new to Amazon should not have a blind trust in the accuracy of the listing because there are errors on some products and sellers may not know about it so do not assume automatically they sent the wrong item on purpose also read the customer feedback on the item someone may have said that there's a problem with the track listing or other errors. You do not have to look at all the feedback if there is a lot just check a good number of low and high ratings and some middle ratings.

The Mini LP CD listings tracks changed for some reason and the seller may have listed it before the change happened and it may be true on other items and Amazon does not inform the seller of these changes which is their BAD. Also the listing may be up a long time because it waiting for a buyer. Amazon is not a 7 day auction website.

Some sellers do know about the errors but they are setting themselves up for trouble from the buyer.

A thorough read of the Product Details and also customer ratings of item you want and maybe some extra side searching may answer the discrepancies and you may find a better deal somewhere else.

Contact the seller before the purchase so they have time to answer the question because some sellers are quick shippers and others are lame and slow so that's why looking at their feedback may indicate fast or slow shipping.

The Product Details is another place to look for release date, Number of Discs. The Mini lp cd listing has the number at 1 disc which is a clue there may be an error.

Just take a step back calm down and see if things look correct before an impulse buy.

be vigilant one and all and buying will be a happy time!!

good hunting

Why?

"Why should Amazon include 118 rewiews about the CD version on the Classic Records Vinyl edition page?

As a vinyl enthusiast I always get bored when I try to look for rewiews about some specific VINYL reissue, and find thousands of rewiews related to other formats (5.1 remixes, SACD, mono or stereo CDs...) all mixed together.

Is there any reason for this?

By the way, ALL Who Classic Records reissues on vinyl are splendid, impecable original mixes, sometimes very different from the remixes done in mid 90's and currently found on CDs.

Highly recommended."
