"Of the three works on this CD, "Wie der hirsch schreit" (op 42) is excellent (hence the big letters), and the other two are merely okay. If you haven't heard any of Mendelssohn's good choral music, I would say it has the same contrapuntal richness that Bach's choral music has, but it's less baroque, more romantic, and of course it's packed with flowing Mendelssohnian melodies."
