"At the age of 64, Butler may well be just hitting his stride. On this CD, George features 13 original, cleverly written tunes featuring Butler on vocals and harp. The Wild Child sings rather softly at times but always with authority. The vocal qualities are not unlike that of Lightnin' Hopkins, although a bit more polished and refined. Butler's voice and harp are complimented by the drums of long time friend Sam Lay and some outstanding guitar work of Jimmy D. Lane, son of Jimmy Rogers, whose "Legacy" CD is also well worth a plug here. The songs on this disc tend to go from slow blues to a moderate tempo. I have said it before, and I will say it again, some of these old guys epitomize what blues music is all about and should be heard. This is the stuff legends are made of."
