"I first heard this band on the 1987 Sire 'Just Say Yo' sampler and was taken in by the pure pop hook of 'Young Manhood'. I had trouble tracking down 'Bringing Home the Ashes' on CD which in hindsight kind of exemplified how these blokes somehow always existed completely under the radar. Anyway Ashes was a fantastic pop collection and I was happy to find a few years later another release from them, 'Space Flower'. I bought it immediately and at first did not care for it (quite a change from Ashes). After many repeated listenings over the years though, it's now one of my favorites, thanks in large part to some great session work from Ian Broudie, Chris Sharrock and Robert McNabb of Icicle Works, yet another unsung hero of mine from the 80's."

"Kind of a swirling, popish, alt. band that is largely
forgotten. HOWEVER, I'd recommend Space Flower for
your listening pleasure. Some great songs on this
album and although heavily produced, will provide a
great listen for anyone looking for something a bit
different from the glory of the late 80's/early 90's
alternative music scene."
