They're Back........!!!

"After breaking up and re-forming at least a dozen times, The Wildhearts got back together again late last year, and luckily for their fans, recorded these seven new songs and are touring again (at least in the UK). The new songs remind me of the early days of the band - any of them could have fit nicely on their debut, "Earth Versus The Wildhearts". The production is denser sounding than on their debut LP, but it's light years removed from the white noise approach they took on their last studio LP, "Endless Nameless", which was about 5 years ago. Surprisingly, the whole band, and not just Ginger, is listed on the writing credits. The very first review I ever read on the band referred to them as a cross between Metallica, Motorhead, Cheap Trick, and Jan & Dean. That's still a good description for the uninitiated - very very heavy, guitar driven music with catchy-as-Hell melodies and more hooks than a tackle & bait shop. It's hard to single out any of these tracks individually - they're all great! My only real criticism - they should have recorded an entire full-length CD. Here's hoping the best UK band of the 90's hangs around long enough to give us more."
