Lovely Music Performed by a Master

"I suppose this is close to being a Furtwangler "Lollipop" concert, but it is desirable nevertheless. Every item on this disc is interpreted with warmth and real gusto; for once, I actually enjoy the two Mendelssohn overtures! I have the "Egmont" on an old Polydor 78, and I am pleased to say that as always, Opus Kura exercises its usual honest musicality in its transfers. The "Egmont", "Freischuetz" and "Rosamunde" pieces are the special treats on this disc for me, at least, but I am sure most music lovers will treasure all the works as presented here. I hope that more of the Furtwangler Polydors will surface in such vital transfers as Opus Kura always manages. OPUS KURA 4 EVER!"
