Product DescriptionBIOGRAPHY William Doppmann has achieved the status of legend among the musicians of his generation. A former winner of the Naumburg, Michaels and Leventritt Competitions, Mr. Doppmann has concertized in North and South America, Europe, and the Far East as recitalist and as soloist with major symphony orchestras. He has appeared as featured pianist at such festivals as Ravinia in Chicago, the Hong Kong International Festival, Marlboro, Chamber Music Northwest, Cleveland s Blossom Festival and the Kuhmo International Festival in Finland. Also recognized as a composer, he has received many prestigious commissions, two NEA consortium Grants, a Guggenheim Fellowship, the University of Michigan Alumni Citation of Merit , and ASCAP Special Awards since 1993. Chamber music recordings for Columbia, Delos and Nonesuch have been sought after since 1960 many are to be reissued.
