"Part Sonic Youth part free jazz with components ranging from Albert Ayler to Eric Dolphy Hooker has done to jazz what the Velvet Underground did to rock--turned it upside down and ripped it apart....Apocolyptic music? Cryptic music? Punk jazz? Its hard to pinpoint really--aggravatd in your face noise with a pounding percussion foundation...Think Sonic Youth ala Daydream Nation with Albert Ayler composing....There's nothing really to acurately compare it to though....it's more rock than most free jazz and much more disturbing than most rock....a hybrid....Sonic Youth Meets Can? At any rate another challanging overlooked underappreicated Hooker release...be warned though...not for the faint of heart......"
