"Let me begin this review with this: ask anyone -who really knows about salsa music- about this CD and surely its answer will be that this is one of the most important salsa music albums ever recorded. Everything in it is perfect: the sleek rythmn, the street-smart lyrics, even the album cover, depicting some rumbero sounding a cowbell while strolling down the street. When this album came out, it contributed to redefine the salsa music sound: Willie Rosario's manic approach to play timbales on 3/2 -without any 'descargas'-, gave a much needed fresh air to salsa music, that at that time was begging to be less complicated to dance along. But that doesn't mean that this album lacks strength: au contaire, mon (ma) ami(e); in a category of raw, this one belongs to the most raw you will ever listen to. I will assure you that this CD will blow your heads -and feet- off. So, you need a little salsa spice in your life? Like to start listening to salsa music, but doesn't know where to begin? Well then, here's my suggestion to you. Give a chance to this album. I'm sure that once you listen to it, you will not resist to take it with you - and play it in your Discman, your car CD player, or your Home Stereo- and even show it proudly to your friends. So, give this CD a chance. It will be worth every dollar spent on it. Enjoy."
