Levinson | Media, PA USA | 09/25/2003 (4 out of 5 stars) "A solid set with strong contributions from organist Carl Wilson and guitarist Pat Martino, in addition to the leader's honking swagger. Sentimental pop tunes composed by Barbara Streisand-Paul Williams ("Evergreen") and Stevie Wonder ("Sunshine") are uplifted by sensitive, probing interpretations, but the standouts are the hard-driving blues, "Hitting the Numbers" and "Single Action" which features a particularly riveting solo from the "Gator".
