"If you enjoy traditional country music, you'll love this one. True, Stoney and Wilma Lee were not in their prime when these were recorded, but like the great Ernest Tubb, some voices actually improve with age. Like just about every King Records CD in my collection, the liner notes are scant. But, for the price, it's not a legitimate complaint. To be honest, I'm not a real fan of artists covering other folks' music. But, I'm partial to this one, as it was done professionally, and in the no-nonsense style of the Carters. While there are only 10 songs found here (a short playing time), the selection could not be any better; their cover of "Sweet Fern" and "Gathering Flowers" are every bit as good as Sarah, Maybelle, and A.P."
Old-fashioned country, taken at a leisurely pace

"I'm not sure when these tracks were actually recorded -- I'd guess the mid-1970s, but it's hard to say, since, as with many King/Gusto releases, the liner notes are pretty sparse. At any rate, Wilma & Stoney were pretty long in the tooth when these songs were recorded, and this is a pretty laid-back set... No zip or flashy pyrotechnics, though the songs are still great, and these performances have a calm, confident charm. Worth checking out...!"
