"wolf colonel bring you the kind of good old rock and roll you thought was dead. sweet pop hooks, soaring solos, a bit of guitar-god swagger, a sprinkling of fantastical lyrical content (see the song "the clam, the owl"), a bit of humor and a whole bunch of love. don't get me wrong, although wolf colonel might have a sense of humor, they never let it overpower the true beauty of jason anderson's songwriting. Each song comes striaght from the gut, be it an achingly honest love ballad ("scared of a snail") or a balls-to-the-wall demonstration of art-rock prowess (the above mentioned "the clam the owl"). you should probably buy this record. i mean that. it'll brighten your mood and have you humming the tunes in the shower, pining for more too-cool pop melodies and awesome guitar parts."
