MOZART'S FLUTE QUARTETS AT THEIR FINEST

"This is undeniably some of the most entertaining, delightful and infectious ensemble playing I've heard in a long, long time. The recording, truthful and clear, brings out melodic lines, harmonies and instrumental interplay Schocker and the Chester Quartet obviously relish. No dull Mozart this. There is a real sense of active give and take between these musicians, and
Schocker's delicacy never fails in its grace or Mozartian warmth. As an added "bonus," we have his attractive and faithful flute reduction of Mozart's Oboe Quartet (KV 370/368b), whose Adagio is most fetching. Highest praise to Chesky engineer, Bob Katz, for the intimate immediacy of instrumental placement within the spatial and aural picture; and, too, for the realism of actual instrumental sound."
