Words/music

"This is such an interesting concept: taking poems, which are normally heard as spoken word, and turning them into music. This transcendence caught my attention acutely. It's as if the words were written with the intention of being put to music. The melodies and music match harmoniously and despite what I expected, it doesn't seem forced at all. There's an especially beautiful track entitled "Ode" with Roland Satterwhite on vocals. He doesn't sing elsewhere on the disc, but this particular track caught my attention for its beauty; his voice is lovely. It would have been nice to hear him more. This disc is innovative and unique, I'd recommend it."
A great listen

"I came across the video for Sam's setting of Carl Sandburg's "To Know Silence Perfectly" on YouTube and immediately bought the album listed here. Nineteen startling pieces that will really challenge your sensibilities and hook you in."
