Synopsis
Product Description The Threshingfloor lies at the foot of a mountain in the American West. It's American Indian country: chiseled by canyons, where everything is magnificent and arresting and echoes with whispers of the supernatural. The Threshingfloor, Wovenhand's sixth full-length album, is distinctively marked by the place where it was made--a mythical yet familiar place echoed the world over. Soundscape mimics landscape, towering and jagged like high peaks, enveloping like the star-studded dome of the sky. We are acutely aware of our own smallness, as our senses are accosted by something otherworldly. |
CD ReviewsAnother visceral gem from Edwards Carl W. Sedon | 06/26/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "On the heels of his other releases from his current incarnation and cleverly employing a member of his former band 16 Horsepower, Edwards creates a visceral gem. Tied to his roots and yet pushing the inner landscape, Edwards offers a glimpse of what makes him tick and we are better for it. The grinding power of the later Horsepower is quiet but the beautiful dissonance is ever present. Hats off to Mr. Edwards for some intense late night wanderings."
