True, he was a big STAR in his own right during the late 40's-early 50's, he was Mr. Blues. A great blues shouter. But when the age of rocak and roll was dawning, he missed the boat, unlike another great Blues Shouter, Mr. Big Joe Turner. Thesee recrodings are from the mid 1950's, they're great but they didn't make a dent in the charts when they came out. Tough luck for Mr. Blues, but you are lucky enough to be able to hear this music on this CD. If you like the jump blues early r&r sound then you will want to have this CD."
