A detailed look at Wynton

"For a budding jazz pianist, I think I was able to get more out of this recording than I anticipated. I especially like the fact that there are multiple takes of several songs, giving some perspective not only into Wynton's playing, but also into what goes into making an effective, interesting solo. I couldn't really listen to this through headphones, however, as certain instruments are separated right and left, but played on a regular stereo and at a distance, none of the nuance of the music was lost. I don't know if a casual jazz fan would appreciate this collection, but serious jazz fans and all jazz pianist aficionados will undoubtedly love this set."
