Barry Dejasu | Rehoboth, Massachusetts | 04/24/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "This was a short but sweet chapter in Xasthur's ongoing legacy of ultra-low-key, ultra-ambient black metal. A mere three songs, this self-titled EP is a worthy addition to anyone's collection, and could even be a good introduction to this one-man band.
"Doomed by Howling Winds ('05)" was especially creepy; the warbling, almost carnival-like melody towards its ultra-long outro was very memorable. Good minimalist drumming, also. Definitely worth picking up, this one is. The one and only problem: it's only three songs!" |
